We must explore and consider the commoditization of everything. How every part of life is being quantified and a monetary value applied. This is not merely capitalism - this is something far more grotesque.
The quantification of the entire human experience - housing, food, basic needs - and the mining of every second of a human’s existence i.e. the collection and sale of individual data in order to influence the very root decisions of individuals via subversive messaging delivered in personalized algorithms over “social” media, a term so uniquely inside-out as to be perverse.
Ultimately the quantification - the data mining - is coming for the very essence of humanity, the soul. The data miners and quantifiers do not care. They seek to sell us everything and hollow us into consumerist husks with zero regard for our basic needs or humanity.
What to do?
Look up from our devices and ignore all the noise, and the data would become worthless and powerless. We would be connected and have each other. Imagine that…
